Google 9/11

I know there's a ton of 9/11 stuff that's circulated the internet... slideshows, collages, montages, etc... but I actually thought this was really neat. Its set up with google maps, and it's people's pictures they took when it happened. You just click on any of the pins and that represents where someone was standing when it happened and it shows you the picture they took at that moment from that location. Blue pins are pictures, Red are stories. Here

The pictures are really cool. The stories, well they're exactly what I expected. For better or worse I suppose. But I wasn't especially wow-ed. Still that map is a great hook for getting me to read them. I wish more were of "I was freaking right there" nature. Most are like "Sos, I'm eating a bagel and hailing a cab and doing other New York things when the plane hit. And blah blah blah, I saw it but wasn't really anywhere within a mile of the attack."

I realize that it affects their lives, but some of the storytelling was lacking. Then again, some of it was great. All in all I give it a 7.5 out of 10.

I agree with our ball-busting friend here. You're going to need some kind of gumption to keep a regular blog when you can't blog from work.
