Where's That Pause Button??

"I don't want to grow up. I'm a Toys R Us Kid. There's a million toys at Toys R Us That I can..." Oh screw it. No matter how hard you fight it, life really tries to force you to grow up. Eventually you have to graduate from school... then you have to get a job. Then your friends all start getting married. First it was Frank. Shocker, but we dealt with it just fine. Then PJ... hardly counts cause he DIDN'T TELL US!!! (Yeah, I don't think I ever really yelled at you for that one PJ.) Then Lisa - She was always the grown up type.

And now "best friend" Josh. He got engaged to Allyn last night. I quit. I suck at this game. But that shouldn't take away from Josh's moment, so... Congratulations Josh! You're lucky I really like this one. I mean, it's like I told Lisa... If I didn't like the significant other, there would be significant problems. But I think she's a keeper. I mean sure... there are plenty of fish in the sea, but you caught a really nice fish. (Here is the spot that I wanted to put something about how you should mount her on your wall - but I couldn't find a way that seemed tactful and didn't sound like a double entendre.)

So Here I am floating through life, NO IDEA what I want to do... and everyone else is freakin' getting married. Hate you all. In the meantime I always have Smallville. Hey Melinda, why the hell didn't the girl just teleport away when creepy kid caught her? I mean, seriously. I have to admit - not my favorite episode... even if Lana did have a shower scene (it was probably a body double anyways). And did you see the trailer for next weeks? Ro really hates Lois, and she's really hoping that Lois Lane dies next week. I just don't have the heart to tell her... eh, she'll figure it out.

Maybe its time for you and Ro to get married next don't forget the mail out the invitations. Sorry, I haven't watched that Smallville episode from yesterday yet. The one from last week was a thumbs down I guess that Alicia chick will be popping in and out of the program.

Don't want to forget to tell you I heard one of your swings songs on the radio yesterday. "You and me and the Mombo Swing".

Aww... You should watch the episode. And the best part about that particular song you "heard" on the radio is that you blended two titles. So I know which band you heard (Big Bad Voodoo Daddy) but the song was either "Mambo Swing" or "You and Me and The Bottle Makes Three"

Ahh Melinda... I miss you already. Shoot Tim with a rubber band for me. I'm sure he's been talking to people he's not supposed to be.

Seriously, crazy episode. What was the deal with the other teleporting guy? I felt like he was the inspiration for the Kansas classic 'Dust in the Wind'. And I agree, how did she not just teleport away when creepy chloroform guy tried attacking her.

No way did the chloroform knock her out that fast. This girl wouldn't last 10 minutes at a rave. But I guess she's really going to be considered a stiff now. Clark's reaction was pretty interesting. I knew he felt for her but I didn't think he felt strongly enough for a Wrath of Khan magnitude: "NoooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

Who knows. As far as friends getting married, I'm sure they're just worried about the death pacts. "If I'm not married by the time I'm ______, promise to kill me." So relax, unless you made one. Then be afraid. Your life's ending one way or another...

(Just kidding marriage is great...)

Ah yes, Thanks for the majority of the focus of today's blog dear sir. Don't worry, there's a superbabe out there with your name on her. Maybe not in a legible way, or maybe so, I'm not sure about that one. Maybe you could just write on her when you found her, that might be a great way to establish the relationship, scribble autographs and the forehead of your girl/boyfriend. I'm just spitballing here.

Hey Rob...marriage is great! You find that special someone who you adore and adores you...you get married (to find out later there are quite a few things they didn't disclose to you during that "courting" phase, like having to sit on the toilet for hours at a time when any new magazine comes in the mail or never wanting to pick up after themselves)...you buy a house with a nice fat monthly mortgage payment...then of course you have to buy all the furnishings to fill the house ...you both will need cars (so car payment/insurance X 2) in order to make it to the job you both must slave at 40 hours a week in order to afford this lavish life of yours...hoping you catch each other on a day off just to say hi how are you? or possibly have a conversations during the commercials of CSI that consists of no more then two syllable words cuz youre too tired to really talk...fast forward a couple of years and you start getting family members who want to know when you're going to start having a baby...so of course you oblige and next thing you know there's a bundle of joy on it's way (then all those great family members like to point out the fact that your life will NEVER be the same and joke about how you better catch up on your sleep now cuz you'll NEVER get any again for the rest of your life...I see this as an evil ploy to get us young adults to become as miserable as they are!)...lets not even go down the road of what expenses lay ahead for that addition... top it all off with having to start to pay back your college loans and reminiscing of the days when you didn't have to get up until noon and could take a nap at 3, breakfast/lunch/dinner/snacks were already prepared for you, all you had to do was swipe a card. It's a wonderful experience! Marriage is great, you should look into it!!

I'm just kidding, I really do enjoy being married, it's a lot of fun and I wouldn't change it for the world! And who said you really HAVE to grow up...I mean look at Adam :). I think grown ups are dull and boring people and I don't want to be one.

Just wait until that bundle of joy gets into school! Life goes by fast once you say "I do"....don't rush into it! Enjoy dating and flirting. Enjoy being able to sleep sideways on the bed if you so choose! People who get married don't necessarily grow up. My husband, for example (I love the man, but I have TWO children when I count him!) still reads comic books daily, when I buy action figures for my 3-year old son, I have to buy my hubby one as well. They fight over who gets to be Batman and who has to be Joker. They fight over who gets what cool matchbox car. They fight over who gets to use the Hulk hands. They fight over watching Justice League or Teen Titans. They fight over which Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle is the coolest...and it gets better!

Getting married is ah...but having children is when you get to relive your childhood!

By the way...my hubby LOVES Smallville, but must work. I am technologically impared and can not figure out how to set the record timer on the stupid VCR (I am at church while Smallville is on)...I would pay to have tapes or whatever mailed to me Rob!

Rob,

Maybe you should start watching the OC instead -- I've found it has much fewer let-downs as there's ALWAYS some kind of "I'm rich but my life sucks anyway" drama going on. Next week I think Marissa's finally becoming bi-sexual. Interesting, eh?

Josh, congratulations and many blessings!

Hey Rob thanks so much for the "well wishes". We could hardly wait to call you. :) So sorry I missed the fun in St. Louis, but was kind of hoping we could plan something else soon for all of us to do together? If I were you, I wouldn't be in any hurry as far as this whole marriage thing. God was definitly the matchmaker for Josh and I, and I wouldn't have it any other way. :)
As for the "wall" thing, I definitely laughed out loud. Thanks for that and can't wait to see you soon!!!
